North Mountain Visitor Center AZ
North Mountain Visitor Center is managed by the Save Our Mountains Foundation. We open daily at 8 AM and normally close at 2 PM. We are 100% run by volunteers, so make sure to call to check what time we close.
Donate blood on May 25th from 9 am to 2 pm at the North Mountain Visitor Center operated by the Save Our Mountains Foundation. When you donate blood you will get a Red Cross shirt and be saving three lives! Click the link below to sign up to donate!

If you missed yesterday’s Toddlers, Trails, & Tales event, you can stop by to play anytime between 8am - 2pm today and through the weekend. This is our Dottie Gilbert Reading room packed with desert-themed books, toys, & activities. The scavenger hunt sheets are still available for you to take your tots on our back patio paved trail too. Thank you to everyone who came to our first Toddlers Trails & Tales event! 25 parents/caregivers signed in… add the kids and we had a total of 50+ people fill our wonderful educational facility with little laughs & lots of learning this morning!
Special guests & speakers included: Debbie Hendricks/Just Roughin’ It, Claire Miller/City of Phoenix Park Ranger Supervisor, Kristen Keogh/fellow toddler mom & outdoorsy era influencer.

These three ladies in tennis shoes are a big part of the reason the Phoenix Mountain Preserve System exists today. #wisdomwednesday
Their passion and foresight to fight for open space in the 70s is inspiring & saved the desert for you to hike & enjoy.
The City of Phoenix officially honored their years of service & impact in April 1995.
The recognition reads in part:
Now therefore be it resolved:
“That the City of Phoenix Parks and Recreation Board recognizes and salutes, Dottie Gilbert, Ruth Hamilton, and Maxine Lakin, for their years of dedicated service and community leadership to the Phoenix Mountains Preserve Program…”

LAST CALL! So far… 19 parents have DM’d us giving us the heads up they’re interested in coming to this Thursday’s 10am Toddlers Trails & Tales event. We know everyone might not make it… because well… kids (IYKYK). If you’re late, it’s ok. We’ll be going strong until 11:30am. We have plenty of space & sensory stations where kids can rotate.
